Pamela Kay Janecek, 62, of Piedmont, MO, passed away Sunday, May 5, 2019, at Southeast Hospital, Cape Girardeau, MO. Pam was born in St. Louis, MO, on June 8, 1956, to parents Guy Montgomery and Shirley Phillips. She was raised in Wayne County by grandparents, Robert and Esther Montgomery. She attended and graduated from Clearwater Schools in 1974, then entered the U.S. Navy, where she served as a jet engine mechanic at Whiting Field, Florida. There she first met her loving husband, James. The couple were married on November 18, 1977. To this union three children were born. In her younger years she was a dedicated wife and mother to her young family often coaching baseball for her kids. Pam loved fishing, especially catfish and crappie. Her love of fishing was a perk when she worked for Bluff View Boat Dock for several years. She later retired from Clearwater Middle School as a special education teacher’s aide. She made a big difference in the students’ lives. Pam will be loved and missed by family and friends.
She is survived by her husband, James; sons, Jimmy Janecek and companion Tera Plummer and Jeff Janecek and wife Ashley; daughter, Julie Umfleet and husband Michael, all of Piedmont; grandchildren: Jordan Janecek, Ava Umfleet, Waylon Umfleet and one of the way, Jaxon Ross Janecek; sister, Diana Foster of Poplar Bluff, MO; step-children: Scott Janecek and Amber Paronto, both of Milwaukee, WI; step-grandchildren: Amalia Paronto and Zach Paronto.
She was preceded in death by her parents; grandparents; and sister, Vicky Finerty.
Visitation was held Saturday, May 11, 2019, from 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm, at Ruegg Funeral Home, Piedmont, MO. Services followed at 2:00 pm, also at the chapel.
