Kenneth Winfred Hicks Sr., 87 of Barnhart, MO, passed away April 6, 2019. He was born March 5, 1932 in St. Louis, MO to parents Lyman and Louise (Forster) Hicks. Kenneth was a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother,uncle and great-uncle. He served our country in the Marine Corp and traveled to many places in his younger years before settling in the St. Louis area working at Pepsi Cola for twenty years as a fork lift operator. He married Donna Ward on April 23, 1977. Kenneth enjoyed outdoors, nature, camping and was a boy scout leader. He had an avid interest in motorcycles. He loved the St. Louis Cardinals to the point he could not be pried away from a cardinal’s game; however, his family was his greatest joy. Kenneth enjoyed spending time with his family and looked forward to family get-togethers. He adored his grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his loving wife of thirty-one years; sisters; Diane Hicks, Marcella Hicks. Kenneth is survived by his children: Mike Hicks and wife Vickie of Troy, MO, Kenneth W. Hicks Jr. of Piedmont, MO, Ronnie Hicks of St. Louis, MO, Kenneth D. Hicks of St. Louis, MO, Victoria Hicks of Kendallville IN, Chris Hicks-Reed of Springfield, MO, Robin Hicks-Jerez and husband Eli of Quincy, IL, Alisha Malone of Barnhart, MO; many grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren; brothers: Eugene “Gene” Hicks of St. Louis, MO; sister: Nancy Ruppe of St. Louis, MO; and one special granddaughter and care taker: Bridgett Baldrick. Visitation will be held from 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm, Saturday, April 13, 2019, at Ruegg Funeral Home, Piedmont, MO. A memorial service will follow at 4:00 pm also in the Piedmont chapel, with full military honors. Bro. Chuck Huff ministered to the family. Burial will be at Montgomery Cemetery, Silva, MO.
