Paul Elmer Pigg, age 96, of Greenville, MO, passed away on Wednesday, March 20, 2019, in Poplar Bluff, MO. Paul was born in rural Greenville to the late Marion Erastus and Hattie Elenor (Clubb) Pigg. He grew up in Old Greenville and “Pigg Holler.” Paul was united in marriage to his devoted wife, Freda M. Clay, December 31, 1949, and to this union three children were born. Paul was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, and always made time for his family. Paul worked twenty-six years for the Missouri Department of Transportation as an equipment operator. He retained many memories of Old Greenville history, and was instrumental in helping the Corps of Engineers finish the map of Old Greenville that is now on display at the campground. He and his wife Freda were long time members of New Hope General Baptist Church in Silva, MO. Paul was an excellent example of a hardworking and honest man who was devoted to his Lord and his family. He was an inspiration to all who knew him and will be greatly missed by his family and friends. In addition to both parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife Freda, of fifty-eight years; brothers: Leslie, Jessie, Ernest and Willard Pigg; and sister, Marguerite Harris. Paul is survived by his children: Michael Pigg and wife, Donna, of St. Louis, MO; Paula Howell of Poplar Bluff, MO; Patti Davis and husband, Tracy, of Williamsville, MO; grandchildren: Todd Pigg, Kelley Bobelak, Sarah Sullivan, Clinton Howell, Emily LeMaster, Jonathan Davis; great-grandchildren: Tyler, Kyle, and Caden Howell, Kali and Bridget Sullivan, Desmond, Logan and Silas Bobelak, and Evan LeMaster; sister: Dorothy Boyer of Potosi, MO. Visitation was held from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Friday, March 22, 2019 at New Hope General Baptist Church, Silva, MO. Funeral service followed Saturday, March 23, 2019 at 12:00 pm also at New Hope General Baptist Church, Silva, MO. Bro. Dan Ross ministered to the family. Songs were provided by New Hope General Baptist Choir led by Don and Sandy Ross. Dale Pigg, Jonathon Davis, Clinton Howell, Tyler Howell, Kyle Howell, Todd Pigg served as pallbearers. Lanny Robinson and David Howell served as honorary pallbearers. Burial was at Greenville Cemetery, Greenville, MO. Online condolences can be made at
