Obituary for Geneva Manetz

Geneva Manetz
Cora Geneva (Dildine) Manetz, 84, of Piedmont, MO, passed away Saturday, March 24, 2018, at St. Francis Medical Center, Cape Girardeau, MO. She was born June 11, 1933, to William Homer and Mattie Dee (George) Dildine at Dell, AR.
On January 12, 1957, she married Donald Eugene Manetz. To this union, five children were born. They shared 57 wonderful years together before he passed away on September 15, 2014. Geneva and Donald moved to Piedmont in 1959 to a farm on Julian Tower Road. Here, they raised their family and shared many happy times. In 1994, they sold the farm and moved into town to retire. She had worked for many years at Brown Shoe as a caser until the factory closed in 1994. In 1978, at age 45, Geneva found Christ and joined New Liberty United Baptist Church near Piedmont. She was baptized in the Dinkins hole near the church. After her husband Don was saved and baptized in 2007, the two become members of Tabernacle Baptist Church at Piedmont. Her favorite verse was Psalms 27:1. She studied her Bible daily. In her spare time, Geneva enjoyed working puzzles, reading, embroidery and baking pumpkin pies for family get-togethers. Geneva also enjoyed spending time with her family, visits with her nieces and playing cars with her great-grandson, Meyer. She was a member of Piedmont Order of the Eastern Star and a former member of a Piedmont bowling league.
She is survived by her four boys: Ron Manetz and wife, Lisa, of Perryville, MO, Paul Manetz and wife, Dianna, of Piedmont, MO, Terry Manetz and wife, Stephanie, of St. Ann, MO and Randy Manetz and wife, Janet, of Arnold, MO; her grandchildren: Eric Julian and wife, Michelle, Angela Livingston, Michael Livingston and wife, Cora, Ashley Ward and husband, Joshua, Amanda Manetz Burle, Ryan Manetz and companion, Savannah Moore, John Paul Manetz, Melissa Foster and husband, Mark, Jennifer Heitman and husband, Matthew, and Rebecca Manetz, Kloe, Beth, and Jeremiah L’Heureux; her great-grandchildren: Tiffani Cronin, Tyler Cronin and wife, Sarah, Abbigale Hale and husband, John, Danielle Julian, Trevor Burle, Shelby Burle, Brayden Livingston, Lansten Livingston, Alyvia Hopkin, Meyer Foster, Parker Moore and Cooper Manetz; her five great-great grandchildren: McKinlee Smith, Serinitee Smith, Carly Ablan, Elayna Cronin and Maylee Julian; and her faithful companion, her pet dog Oscar.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Glenda Livingston and her husband, Mike; one granddaughter, Andrea Livingston; sister, Leslie Minyard; and brothers, Wesley and Robert Dildine.
The family would like to thank the Piedmont Ambulance Team, Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center Emergency Room Staff, St. Francis Hospital ER/ICU staff, and to all family and friends for the prayers and sweet messages.
Visitation was held Thursday, March 29, 2018, from 2:00-3:00 pm, at Ruegg Funeral Home, Piedmont, MO. Services followed at 3:00 pm, also at the chapel. Burial was at Forest Chapel Cemetery near Piedmont. Pastor James Stewart ministered to the family.
