Dorothy Earline Wills, 91, of McGee, MO, passed away Wednesday, February 21, 2024, at the Lutheran Home, Cape Girardeau, MO. She was born in Piggott, AR, April 22, 1932, to parents Luther and Ethel Marie (Nelson) Wilkins, who precedes her in death.
Dorothy was a devoted wife, nurturing mother, loving grandmother and great-grandmother. She was of the Baptist faith and saved at an early age and had been a practicing Christian all her life. She last attended Bright Prospect Church where she was a longtime member. Dorothy married the love of her life, Glynn Charles Wills, on November 16, 1950, and they were blessed with three children. She grew up in Clay County Arkansas. Dorothy enjoyed cooking, baking, and taking care of her family. Dorothy loved the outdoors and watching nature. She was very artistic and crafty. Dorothy courageously fought and sadly lost her battle with Alzheimer’s. Her greatest legacy was her family.
Dorothy is survived by her loving husband and best friend, Glynn, of seventy-three years; children: Charles “Wayne” Wills and wife Janice of St. Louis, Sue Ellen Baysinger and husband Grant of Barnhart, Donna Lane Lamberson of McGee; grandchildren: Amy Dunn, Angie Marceleno and husband John, Jodie Novotny and husband Eric, Abigail Pope and husband James, Adam Stammer, Kaetlin Davis and husband Tim, Colin Lamberson; great-grandchildren: Nathan, Lily, Travis, Sophia, Olivia, Ryan, Lucy, Scarlett, Iris; many cousins she was very close to. Dorothy will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Visitation was held at 11:00 am, Tuesday, February 27, 2024, at Ruegg Funeral Home, Greenville Chapel. Funeral service followed at 12:00 noon, also in the Greenville Chapel. Pastor Larry Underwood ministered to the family. Wayne Wills, Colin Lamberson, Grant Baysinger, James Pope, Adam Stammer, and Tim Davis served as pallbearers. Burial was in New Hope Cemetery, McGee.
