Obituary for Jody Dean

Jody Dean
Joseph “Jody” Wayne Dean, 50, passed away on his birthday, September 12, 2018, at his residence. He was born in 1968 to Wayne Winfred Dean and Judy L. (Daly) Dean in Ironton, MO.
He grew up in Iron County and had attended South Iron School. Jody was a truck driver for MFA Agri-Services for many years and also served many years with the Southern Iron County Fire District in Des Arc, MO.
He is survived by his loving wife, Evelyn “Eve” Taylor. They were married on May 21, 1988. He is also survived by two sons; Robert Dean and wife, Lacey, of Paragould, AR, and James Dean and wife, Christina, of Des Arc, MO; fifteen grandchildren; his mother, Judy Dean of Des Arc, MO; his best friend who was like a brother, Richard Walker and wife, Sabrena, of Des Arc, MO; three sisters: Sherry Morgan and husband, Tim, of Des Arc, Marie Ethridge and companion, Robert, of Robertsville, MO, and Virginia Dan of Des Arc; father in law, David Taylor, of Des Arc, MO.
He was preceded in death by his father, Wayne Dean.
He will be greatly missed by family and friends.
Visitation was held on Saturday, September 15, 2018, from 11:30 am until 2:00 pm at Ruegg Funeral Home in Piedmont, MO. Services followed at the chapel at 2:00 pm. Bro. Jerry Patterson ministered to the family. William Dean, John Henderson, Rick Walker, James Dean, Douglas Hackworth, and Tarl Creach served as pallbearers. Robert Dean was honorary pallbearer. Throughout the visitation, funeral, and burial, a firefighter honor guard was maintained by Missouri Fire Service Funeral Assistance Team and Southern Iron County Fire Protection District. Jody was given an escort by Southern Iron Fire Protection District Fire Trucks and Iron County Ambulance District. Near the cemetery, Piedmont Fire Department rendered honors by displaying a large American Flag. Burial followed at Mt. View Cemetery in Des Arc, MO, where bagpipes played, the firefighter bell rang out, a flag was presented to his wife and Jody's final call was given. Online condolences can be made at
