Howard E. Rainwater, 90, of Greenville, passed away Saturday, September 1, 2018, at Greenville Healthcare in Greenville, MO. He was born July 3, 1928, to Harry and Ginny (White) Rainwater at Greenville, MO.
Howard was a lifelong resident of Wayne County, having grown up and attended school at Old Greenville. He was a Christian and attended Camp Eight and New Liberty Jacktown General Baptist Church. In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting and fishing. Howard had worked many years as a carpenter and also worked for the Wayne County Surveyor and Greenville High School. He will be greatly missed by family and friends.
He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Virginia (Fox); two daughters: Brenda Adams and husband Butch of Greenville, Melinda Sutton and husband Tim of Patterson; grandchildren: Ron Sutton and wife Mandy, Erica Rogers and husband Donald, Elisa Swan and husband Andrew, Leslie Adams; great-grandchildren: Thatcher Sutton, Drake Sutton, Walker Rogers, Lainey Rogers; sisters: Ivalee Walker of Mt. Vernon, IL and Freda Starks of Warrenton, IL; sister in law, Carmen Rainwater of Greenville, Missouri.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers: Wayne Rainwater, Harold Rainwater and two sisters: Beulah Stratman and Aubrey Lutes.Visitation was held Monday, September 3, 2018, from 4:30-8:00 pm, at Ruegg Funeral Home, Greenville, MO. Services followed Tuesday, September 4, 2018, at 10:00 am, also at the Greenville Chapel. Bro. Leslie Burchard and Bro. Louie Robinson ministered to the family. Jimmy Jox, Kevin Fox, Tom Roth, Samuel Roth, Rick Starks and Allen Morris served as pallbearers. Dean Osborn and Earl Baumgardner served as honorary pallbearers.
