Aunt Nancy was the rock and foundation of not only her immediate family, but her extended family as well. She was the beacon at the top of lighthouse. Always ready to empart knowledge and wisdom to those who would listen. Always a kind word, but not afraid to speak her mind.
When they were growing up, my dad, (her only brother) would fight like cats and dogs. Almost always instigated by her brother, she would be the one to get caught and punished. Of course, my dad being the only son, he could never do anything wrong. As they grew into adulhood, the bond and love grew and could never be broken.
During vacations back to Kentucky, it was always a must to stop for several days, both coming and going to visit with Aunt Nancy, Robert and family.
Aunt Nancy touched many, many lives during her journey through this earthy veil of tears. She defined the word "Teacher", not only to her family, but all those she came in contact with, be it students, friends or a person walking down the street. Her words, knowledge and wisdom will be carried in our hearts, minds and consciousness and will be passed down for generations to come.
I will miss your physical presence, but you will forever be in my heart.
