Obituary for Katherine Hime (Holtkamp)

Katherine “Kathy” Ann Hime, 55, formerly of Piedmont, passed peacefully at John J Pershing VA Medical Center, Poplar Bluff, MO, on April 13, 2018 awaiting the embrace of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, finally finding peace. She was born August 25, 1962 in Florissant, MO to Gary and Marilyn (Ellis) Holtcamp.
Kathy attended school at McCluer in Florissant, MO before moving to the Greenville area where she was a 1980 graduate. After graduation, Kathy joined the Air Force and was stationed at Fairchild Air Force Base as POL/Jet fuel/Diesel transfer specialist. She married Tom Hime in Spokane Washington in 1982. In 1984 she received an honorable discharge from the USAF and they moved to Erie, Pa. where she worked in the service industry and raised her family. She studied at Erie Business Center for Transcription/anatomy/pharmacy and was also a certified nursing assistant. She spent many years caring for others. After returning to Piedmont in 1994, Kathy worked as a file clerk at Avis Car Rental along with working in the food and beverage service.
She fought with dignity and grace and left this world on her terms, blessed to have found peace and acceptance. Life is not without regrets and Kathy had her fair share. One regret includes not having the opportunity to have made things right with all of those she loved so much. But, most importantly, she did have the opportunity to make things right with her savior and found forgiveness and redemption. Jesus took her burdens and she walked into glory without them. For all those that truly saw her heart and soul, will forever miss her smile, since of humor and her straight forwardness. Her love of her children was beyond measure. Her giving heart and true friendship will be remembered long after she has gone. She loved Jesus, taking the boys to the creek to swim, watching things grow, sunsets and trying to be there for those she held dear.
Thank you to all the Doctors, nurses, aids, hospice care givers, friends and family that showed kindness, compassion, friendship, and love through her final journey here on earth. John Cochran VA in St Louis, MO, Jefferson Barracks in St Louis, MO, CRC in Wappapella, MO, Heartland Family Care Center in Poplar Bluff, MO., St Francis Assisted Living in Kennett, MO, and John J Pershing VA Medical Center in Poplar Bluff, MO. A special thank you to Kayla Thomas (Hospice) and Michele at CRC for all the love, laughter and care you gave her. To David Lundy of Poplar Bluff, for making sure her last wish was fulfilled (being home with her family).
In addition to her mother, she is preceded in death by one son: Thomas Hime; and two brothers; Harold Hanger and Michael (Mike) Marrah.
Kathy is survived by her father Gary Holtcamp of Ballwin, MO; husband: Tom Hime of Erie, PA; son: Jake Hime and wife Brittany of Ellington, MO; grandchildren: Cash and Cruz Hime; sister: Robin; daughter: Kayla Kline of Minneapolis MN and Kayla’s adopted mother and friend, Lisa Ogdahl of Milaca, MN; a niece and nephew of the St. Louis, MO area and cousin: David Lundy of Poplar Bluff, MO, and others that loved her, family, friends and care givers.
