Obituary for Phillip Shrum

Phillip Darrell Shrum, 43, of Trinidad, CO, formerly of Greenville and Poplar Bluff, MO, passed away Wednesday, March 28, 2018 at his residence. He was born December 16, 1974 in Poplar Bluff, MO to Roberta Jo Shrum.
Phillip was a loving father, brother and uncle. He was of the Baptist faith. In his younger childhood years Phillip lived in Greenville, MO, before his family moved to Poplar Bluff, MO where he was a 1995 graduate. In his late twenties, he moved to Trinidad, CO. where he worked as a cook in various restaurants throughout his career, however, he was passionate about his family, fishing, watching football and Nascar.
In addition to his mother, Phillip was preceded in death by his grandparents: Rosco and Bertha L. (Crites) Shrum.
He is survived by his ten-year-old twin daughters: Hailey and Kayley Shrum of Canton, GA; one brother: Will “Billy” Gottstein and fiancé Sara Herzog of Poplar Bluff, MO; one sister: Cynthia “Cindy” (Gottstein) and husband Josh Sellars of Trinidad, CO; nieces and nephews include: Matthew and Ethan Hanna and Jael Sellars all of Trinidad, CO; great aunt: Sylvia Montoya also of Trinidad, CO. Phillip will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Visitation was at 5:00 pm Tuesday, April 10, 2018 at Ruegg Funeral Home, Greenville, MO. Services followed 2:00 pm, Wednesday, April 11, 2018, at Crossroads Baptist Church near Greenville, MO. Bro. Dan Ross ministered to the family. Matthew Hanna, Josh Sellars, J.J., Curtis Gallamore, Chris Pigg and Benny Brant served as pallbearers. Interment was at Crossroads Cemetery.
