Glenda Hodge (Hinkle)
Glenda Carol Hodge, 79, of Montgomery, AL, formerly of Piedmont, MO, passed away Friday, March 23, 2018, at Diversicare in Montgomery, AL. She was born in Des Arc, MO, on July 6, 1938, to parents, Carroll Daniel and Barbara Viola (Copeland) Hinkle. Glenda attended Des Arc High School and graduated with the 1956 class. Shortly thereafter she married Albert Carl Hodge, and to this union four children were born. The family spent about six years in Los Angeles County, CA, where Carl found work with the post office. After returning home to Missouri they spent most of their working years in St. Charles County, until retirement at Piedmont, MO. Desiring to be close to family Glenda moved to Alabama to be near her daughters and son. Glenda was a very devoted and faithful mother and wife. Spending time with the grandkids was a top priority. In her spare time she enjoyed reading and giving her time to others, including volunteering at Clark’s Mountain Nursing Center. Glenda had past been an active member at Peach Tree General Baptist Church near Piedmont.
Glenda is survived by her two boys: Albert C Hodge, Jr., and wife Karen of St. Paul, MO and Mark Hodge and wife Aileen of Montgomery, AL; her two girls: Deborah Irvin and husband Doug of Montgomery, AL and Pamela Evans of Madison, AL; her grandchildren: Heather Dees, Nathan Hodge and wife Michelle, Matthew Hodge and fiancé Nicole, Ben Nothstine and fiancé Elyse, Haley Nothstine, Hunter Hodge, Karl Hodge and Carter Hodge; her great-grandchildren, Virgil Hodge and Ayden Irvin; her brother, Wayne Hinkle and wife Jessica of Fredericktown, MO.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Albert Carl Hodge, Sr.; son-in-law, Tally Evans; brothers, Dale, Bill, Dan and Lewis; sisters: Ena Turner, Wanda Sutton and Dimple Hinkle.
Visitation was held Wednesday, April 4, 2018, from 12:00-1:00 pm, at Ruegg Funeral Home, Piedmont, MO. Services followed at 1:00 pm, also at the chapel. Bro. Charles "Doodles" Sutton ministered to the family. Nathan Hodge, Matt Hodge, Ben Nothstine, Hunter Hodge, Dan Hinkle and Brett Caroll served as pallbearers. Burial was at Mt.
