The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Joseph Jackson can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

Condolence From: Shannon Garner
Condolence: I was so saddened to hear of Mr. Jackson's passing. He was my History teacher at Advance my Junior and Senior years of school. After he left Advance, I lost touch with him for many years. I was walking into a test to get my Superintendent's certification and who is sitting in there but Mr. Jackson. I knew him immediately and he knew me. Fortunately I got to see him several times the last few years with both of us being school administrators. He was a big influence on my life and going into the education field. My condolences to his family. He was a great person and will be missed.

Condolence: Our hearts and prayers are with your family in this time of sorrow and remembrances. Joe was loved by his students and they have many stories to talk about from their times with him. They talk about him saying funny things and how he made his lessons interesting in a memorable way. He will be greatly missed by many.

Condolence: I am so very saddened to hear of Joe’s passing and sorry for your loss, Whitney and family. My momma and daddy loved Joe and you so much, and I’m pretty sure they were there to welcome Joe to heaven yesterday. Praying for peace that passes all understanding for you today.

Condolence: I was saddened to hear the news of Mr. Jackson's passing. He was my favorite teacher in high school at East Carter. I have a feeling he never knew the impact he had on his students. He was the toughest, but taught the best lessons on history, government and life in general. He showed us the importance of discipline and responsibility, along with respect and kindness. Students lost a great role model, but I have a feeling Heaven gained a great man. Prayers are going up for friends and family.
