Zane Elizabeth Seals, 75, of Star, ID, born July 29, 1942 in Sparkman, AR, a long time resident of Piedmont, passed away on January 24, 2018 at her sons residence, Star, ID. She was the daughter of the late Jessie Leonard and Lula Porter Sinquefield.

She was survived by two sons, John Watson of Farmington, MO, Jeff Watson and wife Lisa of Star, ID; two sisters, Lena Roberts of Sparkman, AR, Kathryn Winslow of San Antonio, TX; five grandchildren: Tara Watson, Dalton Watson, Jodi Watson, Noah Watson, Esther Watson; one great-granddaughter: Charlee Jane Watson; one former daughter-in-law, Tabatha Watson of Fredericktown, MO; three stepdaughters: Sharon McCartney and husband Jim of Dixon, MO, Glynis Clayton and Husband Steve of Science Hill, KY, Dana Robins and husband Clint of Bossier City, LA; one stepson: Jason Seals and wif Andrea of Piedmont, MO; eight step grandchildren, three step great-grandchildren.

Preceding in death were her parents; her loving husband Glen Seals of eighteen years, one son Kevin Watson; and one sister, Jennie Kennedy.

Zane was a very loving and compassionate person who dedicated her life in service to others. She greatly enhanced the life of hundreds of children. Her distinguished career as an elementary school teacher in Piedmont and her expertise in early childhood special education were recognized by many awards, including Teacher of the Year. She also tutored children with special needs during and after school hours and summer vacation. Over the years, she enhanced the lives of many, many children. A person of deep faith, Zane was a lifelong Methodist and leader in the Trinity united Methodist Church in Piedmont. After graduating from Sparkman High School, Sparkman, AR in 1960, Zane received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Arkansas State Teachers College, Conway AR, a Master of Arts degree from Southeast Missouri State University. She was a Missouri Court Appointed Child Advocate (CASA) and provided valuable assessments to the Judge. Even when undergoing treatments for cancer, she continued her active involvement in the community, spearheading a fund drive for St. Jude Children’s Hospital and other special programs in her church. She was a talented artist in needlework and other crafts which she regularly donated to charitable endeavors. She was an active member of Daughters of the American Revolution. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Memorial visitation was held Saturday, February 24, 2018, at 12:00 pm, at Ruegg Funeral Home, Piedmont, MO.
