David "Dave" Dungan
David Allen “Dave” Dungan Sr., 83, of Lowndes, MO, passed away Monday, January 1, 2018, at his residence.
Dave was born December 14, 1934, in San Diego, CA. He later moved to the St. Louis area before retiring to Wayne County. Dave proudly served in the United States Army from 1958-1962.
On May 19, 1973, he was united in marriage to Joan Margaret Brasses and she survives of the home.
In later years he worked as a machinist for Tripower Machine Inc. in St. Louis, MO. He truly enjoyed his work and he worked hard, not to completely retire. In later years, he settled in Wayne County on his farm. He enjoyed gardening, tinkering, and using his tractor. He was a loving husband and father and a true gentleman. He had been active for many years in the Masonic Fraternity, he was a past master while in St. Louis and later served at Zalma Lodge.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by three sons: David Allen Dungan, Jr., of New Florence, MO; Earl Joseph “Butch” Kuper of Thousand Oaks, CA; William “Bill” Kuper and wife Mary Ann of Zalma, MO; one daughter, Yvonne Marx and companion Jim Matthews of Hillsboro, MO; grandchildren: Chrisla Boucher, Jennifer Ballard and husband Matt, John Marx and fiancé Ashley, William Michael Kuper, Jr., Robert Allen Kuper and wife Destiney, Michael Allen Joseph Kuper, Heather Radtke and husband JP; great-grandchildren: Katie, Kamron, Ryder, Roger and Braiden; four sisters: Dana Pittman and husband Steve of Foley, MO; Darla Beech and husband Tom of St. Charles, MO; Doris Tucker of Waynesville, MO, Donna Toler and husband Tom of Richland, MO.
Dave was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Katherine Louise Long; one brother, Doug Dungan; and one grandson, John Wayne Long.
Visitation was held Sunday, January 7, 2018, from 11:30 am until 12:45 pm, at Ruegg Funeral Home, Greenville, Missouri. A Masonic funeral rite was held at 12:45 pm and funeral services began at 1:00 pm also at the chapel. Pastor Cathy Hinklin ministered to the family. Bobby Kuper, Bill Kuper, John Marx, Mikey Kuper, Rob Eric and Kamron Boucher served as pallbearers. Burial with full military honors was at Cowan Cemetery near Lowndes.
