Obituary for Leila Eaton

Leila Loretta Eaton, 91, of Patterson, MO, passed away Saturday, November 25, 2017, at Clark's Mountain Nursing Home in Piedmont. She was born April 5, 1926 to the late Steve Haydu and Spycie (Weddle) Haydu in Ironton, MO.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by one sister, Maybelle Bird.
She is survived by her loving husband of 71 years, Richard F. Eaton. She is also survived by two sons, Steve Eaton and Richard Eaton Jr., both of Patterson, MO; two daughters, Linda Laplant of Piedmont, MO, and Spycie Miller of Peoria, IL; one brother, William Haydu of Fredericktown, MO; one sister, Joan Hall of St. Louis, MO; eleven grandchildren, twenty-seven great-grandchildren, and ten great-great-grandchildren.
She was a member of Patterson Baptist Church.
Leila dedicated her life to her family as a homemaker. She loved reading, flowers, gardening, and family gatherings were her favorite. Her arms were always open, warm to friends and everyone she met. All who knew her, loved her.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and Missouri Baptist Children’s Home.

Visitation was held Thursday, November 30, 2017 from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm at Ruegg Funeral Home, Piedmont. Funeral services were held Friday, December 1, 2017, at 11:00 am also at the Piedmont Chapel. Burial was at Patterson Cemetery. Bro. Jule Maskrod ministered to the family. Dustin Dozard, Steve "Wick" Eaton, Glen Gynizio, Jake Eaton, Dan Dozard, and Brandon Lashley served as pallbearers.
