Edward Lee "Ed" Lunyou Jr., 80, of rural Piedmont, MO, passed away Saturday, September 16, 2017, at Cedargate Healthcare in Poplar Bluff, MO. Ed was born August 22, 1937, to Edward Lee Lunyou, Sr., and Opal Frances Lucinda Seals on the family farm near Piedmont.
He attended the Otter Creek School. On July 9, 1957, he married Patricia Baker and to this union, two children were born.
He was a Christian and a longtime member of Mt. Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church near Piedmont.
Ed loyally served his country in the US Army.
Ed was known to be a hard worker. He was a longtime cattle farmer in the Otter Creek Area. He had worked for Johnson's Shell Oil Company and had been a logger for several years.
Ed is survived by his wife, Patricia, two daughters, Julie Johnson and husband Ricky, of Osage Beach, MO, Regina Lunyou, of Peru, IN; two granddaughters, Jessica Ellis and husband Andy and Leigha McKinney; brother, Carl Lunyou and wife Linda of Piedmont, MO. He was preceded in death by his father and mother.
Visitation began Monday, September 18, 2017, from 5:00 pm, at Ruegg Funeral Home, Piedmont, MO. Graveside services followed Tuesday, September 19, 2017, at 1:00 pm, at Duncan Cemetery with full military honors. Pastor Gary Aubuchon ministeedr to the family. John Lunyou, Jason Seals, Zane Seals, Ricky Johnson, Trey Lashley, and Shane Seals served as pallbearers. Donations can be made to Mt. Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church, Piedmont, MO.
