Glen Raymond Sertl, 67, of Annapolis, MO, passed away Saturday, September 9, 2017, at his residence. Glen was born December 17, 1949, to parents Robert and Betty (Cavanaugh) Sertl in St. Louis, MO.
He had been an Iron County resident since 1975. He was united in marriage to Constance Newman on October 13, 1972, and she preceded him in death on August 7, 1990.
Glen was known to be quick-witted and possessed a great sense of humor. He had a great love for his children and grandchildren. In his spare time, Glen enjoyed watching westerns. Through the years, he had worked as a residential carpenter and had served ten years as a EMT with South Iron Rescue. He was of the Christian faith.
Glen is survived by four sons, Scott Oatman of Annapolis, Mark Oatman and wife Alice of Birchtree, Josh Sertl of Annapolis, and Andy Sertl of Leadwood; two daughters, Sherri Fisher of O'Fallon and Sarah Warren and husband Archie of Annapolis; fifteen grandchildren, Michael, Jordan, Ryan, Christen, Megan, Amanda, Brittany, Jake, Jason, Jared, Kody, Abby, Shian, Isaac, Gypsy; twelve great-grandchildren, Leighanna, Lylah, Dustin, Everett, Parker, Noah, Brody, Owen, Madeline, Kiedis, Zaiden and Holden; two brothers, Steve Sertl and wife Donna of Arnold and Matt Sertl of Farmington; and one sister, Sandy Lewis of Farmington. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife.
Visitation was held Tuesday, September 12, 2017, from 12:30-2:30 pm, at Church of the Nazarene, Annapolis, MO. Services followed there at 2:30 pm. Burial followed at Lewis Cemetery near Annapolis. Pastor Howard Casteel ministered to the family. Josh Sertl, Andy Sertl, Steve Sertl, Matt Sertl, Gary Casteel, and Kody Fisher served as pallbearers.
