Obituary for Stanley Plafcan
Stanley E. Plafcan, also known as “Butch”, 77, of Piedmont, MO, passed away Sunday, June 4, 2017, at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center. Butch was born on August 20, 1939, in St. Charles, MO. He was the son of Paul and Esther Lena Louisa (Nehls) Plafcan. Butch worked many years with Emerson Electric as a long distance truck driver. From 1994-2003, Butch drove over one million accident-free miles. On May 11, 1983, Butch married Peggy Logsden in St. Louis, MO, and together they shared thirty-four years together. In his spare time, Butch enjoyed fishing. He was of the Lutheran faith.
Survivors include his loving wife, Peggy; sons, Timothy Plafcan of Olathe, KS, Randall Roberts and wife Mickie of Lake of the Ozarks, MO, Russell Roberts and wife Janet of Eureka, MO; daughters, Vivian Ruble and husband Rick of Charlotte, NC, Stephanie Shackleford and husband Donnie of Ballwin, MO, Shelly Lagermann and husband Mark of Piedmont, MO; grandchildren, Bonnie Roberts, Daniel Roberts, Dale Wilson, Kelsey Roberts, Anna Roberts, Jason Ruble and wife Christy, Sarah Ruble and husband Alain Krapl, Alex Ruble, Laura Ruble and husband Jay Goodall, Joseph Shackleford, Rachel Shackleford, Sarah Shackleford, Donald Shackleford, Trevor Plafcan, and Nick Plafcan; great-grandchildren, Drew Roberts, Devon Roberts, Lillianna Wilson, Elliott Wilson; sisters, Shirley Gassei and husband Larry of Lake Sherwood, MO, and Helen King of St. Louis, MO.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brother, Paul Plafcan; and sister, Darlene Aurand.
Visitation was held Thursday, June 8, 2017, from 1:00-3:00 pm, at Ruegg Funeral Home, Piedmont, MO. Services followed at the chapel at 3:00 pm. Pastor Pete Ruble ministered to the family. Bill Peifer, Devon Roberts, Daniel Roberts, Randall Roberts, Dale WIlson, Brian Houts, Ronnie London and David Wilson served as pallbearers. Burial followed at Clay Cemetery near Piedmont.
